2 weeks ago Pluvi was invited to take part in the preliminary selections for the 3rd China Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition.

This contest aims to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship, helping foreign innovative projects with high growth potential to connect with Chinese hi-tech industrial partners and to expand to Chinese market.

Dear supporters,
we have finished the design of all the final multi-cavities molds and we have just begun their manufacturing; it will take 4 to 5 weeks depending on the complexity of each of them.
During this period we will collect the materials from our suppliers (like laces, boxes, etc..) and we will arrange the assembling line where your Pluvi will be produced.
Today we have received the samples of the colors and - as you can see below - we have verified their correspondence with our pantone codes.

Mold Design

Dear supporters,
as stated in previous update, during the past weeks we have been working on the design of the new multi-cavities molds.
This task, together with the Mold Analysis carried out before, represents one of the most important part of the developing procedure when considering the production of new molds.
Many aspects like shape and dimensions of the moulded part, number of cavities, material, melting temperature and cooling system, injection gates and ejector pins positioning must be considered since each of them has a direct impact on the whole manufacturing process.
You can see below a short extract of the 8 cavities mold for the CAP.

Mold Analysis

Dear supporters,
during the past 3 weeks we have made the final drawings of each component and we have almost finished the design of all the new multi-cavity molds.
You can see below the CAP.
A couple of days ago we also completed another important step in the development of the project, what is called "Mold Analysis"; let us briefly explain you what it's about.
Through the use of specialized software that replicates the design of the part to be manufactured, the Mold Analysis is the process of simulating an injection molding cycle with a particular plastic and analyzing the results.
Since the flow of the polymer in the mold makes a massive difference to the behavior of the product, this software provides important informations about the chosen design and it creates color maps of different properties; these include heating/cooling, injection gates positioning, injection pressure, potential air traps, shrinkages and many more.
